What does your language school teach?
We teach Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA).
How many students do you normally allow in a small group?
Between 3 – 6 students.
What times and days are classes?
For the small group and one-to-one programs, times and days are determined by student requests and our schedule.
I have never learned Arabic before. What can I expect to learn after 1 month with intensive single one to one for about 30 hours per week?
You will learn to read and write the Arabic alphabet, ask and give personal information, greet people, shop, give instructions to a taxi driver, talk about your job, tell the time, deal with money and numbers, describe people, use
plurals, talk about likes and dislikes, invite and suggest, talk about people's countries.

How will I know what level I start at?
All students are given a placement test on arrival.

How much will it cost to live in Cairo?
We estimate about 150€ - 200€ per month for living expenses only.

What are the Visa requirements?
Please check with your local Egyptian embassy. Students normally apply for a 1 month Tourist Visa first, and then extend later as needed. You will need to provide additional passport photos when extending your Visa. You can either bring these with you or arrange for them to be taken here.
Do I need to take vaccinations?
We recommend you check with your local doctor, as well as bringing any prescription medicine with you.
It is suggested that you are up-to-date with Typhoid, Tetanus and Hepatitis.
Pharmacists in Egypt usually speak English, and in Cairo many pharmacies are open 24 hours.
What type of clothing do I need to bring with me?
Egypt is an Islamic country, so women are advised to wear appropriate clothing that does not expose too much skin.
Egypt is very hot from May to October (average mid 30's Celsius). Bring a hat and light clothing. There is cooler weather from November to April (average mid 20's Celsius) with even cooler nights. May need a light-heavy cardigan.
